SANKOFA 2025

BOSTON, MA — July 18–19, 2025 will mark a turning point in the Pan-African renaissance as the Alliance
for Total Freedom for Republics and Independent Countries of Africa Network
(A.F.R.I.C.A.N)
convenes the All-African Convention at the Reggie
Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Boston, MA. Dubbed “Sankofa”, this
historic gathering is not just a celebration it is a call to action,
reflection, and reconstruction of the global African identity.

At the heart of the “Sankofa” convention is the belief that the socioeconomic recovery and geopolitical sovereignty of African nations depend on more than internal reforms, they require reconnecting with the global African diaspora. As articulated by the organizers, Africa cannot rise in isolation. The continent must reverse the historical routes; Transatlantic and trans-Saharan of displacement and trade that once divided us and now use them to restore what was lost, our people, resources, dignity, and power.”

Inspired by the Japanese art metaphors of Origami and Kirigami, the A.F.R.I.C.A.N. movement underscores how Africa was cut, folded, and reshaped by colonialism and slavery, but now must unfold and reassert its original form, purpose, and pride. And the dialogue on African lingual censorship must not be limited to Anglophone and Francophone but should include but not limited to Arabophone and many other minor western languages like Portuguese etc. The Neo-Pan-Africanism vision driving this movement sees the recently proposed African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) as only the first step. The real economic liberation lies in connecting trade, diplomacy, and cooperation with Afro-descendant nations in the Caribbean, South America, and beyond

More than Just an Event

As the theme “Sankofa” suggests “go back and fetch it” this convention is not a nostalgic retreat, but a strategic introspection. It urges Africans everywhere to revisit the past not to dwell in pain, but to mine its wisdom, reclaim pride, and rebuild what was fractured.

The All-African Convention: Sankofa 2025 is not just an event. It is a movement a cultural awakening, an economic rally, and a political declaration that Africa and her descendants will write the next chapter of their own history.
